Beyond the filter: reducing the source

A filter manages exposure while the source remains. If your test comes back high, run the tap until it turns cold before drawing drinking water after long stagnation, ask your utility whether a lead service line serves your address and what their replacement program offers, and consider having a plumber identify lead solder or fixtures worth replacing.
